IICEC gathers the global energy industry actors in Istanbul

The fifth IICEC International Energy Forum organized by Sabancı University Istanbul International Center for Energy and Climate (IICEC) will be held at Conrad Hotel Istanbul on June 13 Friday.

The forum under the theme of “Global Energy Investments: Challenges and Opportunities” will once again gather the governments and all stakeholders of the energy industry in Istanbul and offer a platform where the current status of oil, natural gas and electricity investments in Europe, Turkey and Middle East will be discussed at utmost level.

Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yıldız, Poland Minister of Environment Maciej H. Grabowski, Japan Prime Minister Special Advisor Eiichi Hasegawa, DOE of Energy Counselor of the Secretary Melanie Kenderdine, Siemens AG President and CEO Joe Kaeser, GDF SUEZ Chairman and CEO Gérard Mestrallet, E.ON SE Chairman and CEO Dr. Johannes Teyssen, BP Executive Vice President and Group Chief of Staff Dev Sanyal, Shell Vice President Group Strategy Brian Davis and International Energy Agency (IEA) Chief Economist Dr. Fatih Birol as well as several bureaucrats and representatives from leading universities, political centers and think-tanks are expected to attend to the forum.

Traditionally organized by Sabancı University Istanbul International Center for Energy and Climate (IICEC) every year, the fifth IICEC International Energy Forum will be held at Conrad Hotel Istanbul on June 13 Friday under the hosting of Sabancı University Board of Trustees Chairman Güler Sabancı and IICEC Steering Board Honorary Chairman Dr. Fatih Birol. The opening speech of the forum held under the theme “Global Energy Investments: Challenges and Opportunities” will be made by the Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yıldız.

During the conference held traditionally since 2010 acting upon the role and increasing importance of IICEC in Turkey’s global energy, the leading oil, natural gas and electricity companies and opinion leaders of the world and Turkey will meet once again, discuss the obstacles related to the investments and talk over the policy suggestions.
